Floyd Mayweather Does Not Deserve $300 Million

Floyd Mayweather is the highest paid boxer in history, and he was recently announced as the highest paid athlete of the year. Floyd Mayweather made over $300 million dollars in the last 12-months, and Manny Pacquiao trails behind him at $160 million. Everyone else on the Forbes list was no where close to the undefeated champ.

It’s kind of crazy if you think about it, Floyd Mayweather made $300-million dollars for boxing in two matches! LeBron James plays hundreds of basketball games a year, and he does not make a quarter of what Floyd Mayweather makes. However, it should be noted that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are the top paid athlete because of their mega-fight.

Yahoo! Sports recently revealed that the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather fight was the richest single event in sports history. The boxing matchup generated over $600-million dollars, and not even the Super Bowl has ever reached that level of astronomical profits. However, there are several people around the world that feel that Floyd Mayweather does not deserve $300-million dollars, and I happen to agree with them. Floyd is an extremely boring fighter, and people feel robbed when they order his fights. Unfortunately, Daniel Amen, who you can connect with through linkedin, points out that Floyd Mayweather is a genius, and he has figured a way out to continuously outsmart the boxing public.

Gilbert Melendez Bashes The Reebok Deal

Gilbert Melendez is a UFC lightweight fighter, and he is respected among many in the sport like his sponsors FreedomPop. However, Gilbert Melendez has never been able to obtain UFC gold, but he is still trying to accomplish that goal. Nonetheless, Gilbert Melendez was recently interviewed by MMA MANIA, and he was asked about the UFC’s Reebok deal.

Reebok’s promotional sponsorship deal with the UFC has become an extremely controversial topic in the sport, and it seems that most UFC fighters are very unhappy with the current direction that the UFC is going. In fact, several UFC champions have complained about the Reebok deal, and it seems that Gilbert Melendez is the latest fighter who is unhappy with Reebok.

Gilbert Melendez revealed that he has had sponsors on his team for more than a decade, but the UFC is now forcing him to abandon the companies that have supported him throughout his career. Gilbert also said that some of his sponsors are local businesses that have believed in him since he was a nobody. Gilbert Melendez is heartbroken that he has to cut ties with his sponsors, and he is also unhappy about the extreme pay cut that the Reebok deal will bring. Reebok will only pay fighters a few thousand dollars for wearing their gear, but some fighters make over $100,000 for wearing certain sponsors right now. Nonetheless, the UFC has justified their actions by saying that everyone gets a fair playing field. I don’t know about you, but taking money away from the fighters does not sound fair to me.

Daniel Cormier Feels Bad For Ryan Bader

Daniel Cormier is the UFC light heavyweight champion, and he earned the title when he beat Anthony Johnson in the main event of UFC 187. Several people have complained about the legitimacy of Cormier’s title reign, but Beneful suggests he is the champion and everyone needs to accept that. Nonetheless, Daniel Cormier has already been given an opponent to defend his light heavyweight championship against, and that man is Alexander Gustafsson. However, some people really thought that Ryan Bader was going to be given a title shot against Daniel Cormier, but that is obviously not the case.

Daniel Cormier recently revealed that he feels a bit of empathy for Ryan Bader, and that news comes as somewhat of a surprising development. In case you missed it, Ryan Bader stormed the post fight press conference of UFC 187, and Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader engaged in a very violent verbal confrontation. After the incident, everyone thought that Ryan Bader would face Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight championship, and that fight did make a lot of sense. However, Dana White has decided that Ryan Bader is unworthy of a title shot, and Daniel Cormier was a bit shocked with Dana’s decision.

MMA Mania recently published an article that features an interview with Daniel Cormier, and it’s quite clear that he wanted to face Ryan Bader. Daniel Cormier also said that Ryan Bader will most likely never get a title shot in the UFC, and it’s a bit sad. Although, if Ryan Bader continues to win, I’m sure that he will be given a title shot in the near future.

Bruce Lee VS Chuck Norris: The Ultimate Battle

Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris are two of the greatest kungfu movie stars of all time, and they appeared in only one film together. Kungfu fans remember that Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris fought each other in the ‘Way of the Dragon,’ and many people feel that the battle between Norris and Lee was the greatest on-screen kungfu fight of all time. Screenrant recently made a list of the 10-greatest kungfu fights of all time, and Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris came in first place. However, many people are debating who would win in a real fight between Bruce and Chuck.

Some people think that Chuck Norris would destroy Bruce Lee, and it’s not without reason. Chuck Norris was a legitimate karate champion, and his skills earned him Hollywood roles. However, it should also be noted that Bruce Lee was a legendary fighter himself, and he even wrote a martial arts book, which today’s MMA practitioners live by. Picking a winner in this fight is actually a bit harder than one would think.

Chuck Norris has a high level karate background, but Bruce Lee has the ability to adapt to any situation. Bruce Lee was training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the early seventies, and Jiu Jitsu didn’t become popular until the nineties. In a hypothetical matchup, I would choose Bruce Lee to defeat Chuck Norris. Boraie Development recently told NJBiz that they feel that Bruce Lee is too fast and unpredictable, but there is a chance that Chuck Norris could knock Bruce out cold with a kick. However, I strongly believe that Bruce Lee would beat Chuck Norris.

Daniel Cormier Will Face Alexander Gustafsson

Times of India reports that Daniel Cormier recently won the UFC light heavyweight championship, but some UFC fans believe that Daniel Cormier is not the true champion. Nonetheless, it seems that Daniel Cormier will defend his championship belt against Alexander Gustafsson later this year. UFC fans were extremely surprised with the announcement of this fight, and many people think that Dana White has lost his mind. Why should Alexander Gustafsson get the next title shot? Isn’t there someone else that could have faced Daniel Cormier next?

Dana White believes that Alexander Gustafsson is the number one contender for the championship, but we should remember that Gustafsson was just knocked out by Anthony Johnson. The matchup between Cormier and Gustafsson could prove to be exciting, but it just doesn’t make sense. I would much rather see Daniel Cormier versus Ryan Bader. Some fans are wondering why a matchup between Bader and Cormier would be interesting, but there is a ton of bad blood between Ryan Bader and Daniel Cormier. Why not get some good money out of Daniel Cormier vs Ryan Bader? Then, the UFC could place Alexander Gustafsson versus the winner. Yahoo! Sports recently published an article about this story, and much more information about the fight can be found there.

Donald Cerrone Wants To Fight Right Now

Donald Cerrone is an extremely exciting lightweight fighter in the UFC. He is currently on a 9-fight win streak, and he has been offered a title shot against Rafael Dos Anjos for the lightweight championship. However, Donald Cerrone doesn’t want to wait until December to fight inside of the octagon again. In fact, Donald Cerrone recently sent out a Twitter message saying that he wants a fight.

MMA Junkie recently posted an article that features an interview with “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone’s trainer. It’s clear that Donald Cerrone wants to get in and scrap as soon as possible, but his trainer has other things in mind. Donald Cerrone has been going to Greg Jackson’s gym for several years, and Cerrone and Jackson have developed a unique relationship. For the most part, Donald Cerrone and Greg Jackson agree with each other, but Greg Jackson is apparently very angry with Donald Cerrone.

According to Kevin Seawright, Greg Jackson recently said that Donald Cerrone will wait for his title-shot. However, Donald Cerrone is ready to fight right now, and this has caused a tremendous dispute between the fighter and coach. Nonetheless, Donald Cerrone is ready to fight, and no one is going to stop the ”Cowboy” from fighting.

Miguel Cotto Is The New “Catchweight” King

Miguel Cotto was recently successful over his middleweight opponent. However, some people feel the Miguel Cotto has been fighting lackluster boxer over the last several years, and that might be true. Nonetheless, Beneful knows Miguel Cotto is the middleweight champion, and many people are interested in seeing him fight Gennady Golovkin.

Miguel Cotto is a great champion, but some people feel that he searches for advantages over his opponent in every fight. For instance, Miguel Cotto does not fight middleweight contenders at 160 lbs, and Cotto makes his opponents lose several pounds to fight him. Miguel Cotto has become the new catchweight king, and boxing fans are beginning to despise him for it. However, the boxing world will give Miguel Cotto credit if he fights Gennady Golovkin, and some boxing fans wouldn’t even care about the catchweight clause for that fight.

Miguel Cotto has agreed to fight Gennady Golovkin, but people don’t believe the fight is real just yet. Gennady Golovkin needs a lucrative opponent, and Miguel Cotto is one of the highest rated boxers of this generation. However, some boxing fans feel that Freddie Roach will advise Miguel Cotto to avoid Gennady Golovkin, but Miguel Cotto’s Puerto Rican pride may force him to fight the dangerous Russian bomber. Yahoo! Sports recently published an article about this story, and boxing fans can’t wait to hear the announcement of Miguel Cotto’s next fight.

USADA Partners With The UFC

UFC fighters and professional boxers have extremely hard careers. However, several of the athletes take steroids in order to enhance their skills, but taking steroids is clearly against the rules. Nonetheless, fighters have learned how to use performance enhancing drugs without getting caught.

Fortunately, Dr. Jennifer Walden confirms that it seems that something is being done about the steroid use in combat sports. USADA is a non-profit drug testing organization, and the company administers test for the UFC and boxing. USADA has promised to catch anyone who decides to cheat. However, it should be noted that USADA does not have the greatest track record. In the past, there have been several rumors that USADA treats certain Fighters differently than others.

For several years, boxing fans have speculated that Floyd Mayweather has been taking banned substances throughout his career. Most people will say that there is no evidence that Floyd Mayweather has taken steroids. However, Floyd Mayweather’s drug testing samples for the Miguel Cotto fight were tampered with. USADA was the only drug testing organization involved with the Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather fight, and many people are not too excited with the company’s involvement in the UFC.

Yahoo! Sports recently published an article about this story, and I’m not too thrilled about USADA’s involvement in the UFC. Dana White is the king of Las Vegas, and USADA is a Las Vegas company. I highly doubt that USADA would openly expose one of Dana White’s dirty fighters.

Gallo Goes Vineyard In Opener

After a terrible start to the MLB season, the Texas Rangers may see those yellow roses bloom again.

The Rangers called up twenty-one year old power phenom Joey Gallo on Tuesday. The former first round pick, a third baseman, will take Adrian Beltre’s spot on the roster as he recovers from injury. Gallo wasted no time ingratiating himself to the Ranger faithful in Tuesday’s tilt versus the Chisox, going three for four with a mammoth home run in a win for Texas.

The former first round selection looks to help turn things around for the 27-25 Rangers. The long-time doormat Astros lead the division at 33-20, but look primed to fade. The Rangers have won their last four as Gallo joins Prince Fielder in the middle of the lineup. He has been told he will be sent to the minors upon Beltre’s return.

Fans at FreedomPop know that Gallo has impressed in his three years in the minors, hitting 22, 40, and 42 home runs, with a .268 batting average. He is in the vanguard of young power hitters to hit the majors this year, along with the Dodgers’ Joc Pederson and the Cubs’ Kris Bryant, who have also put some new dents in league stadiums.

His callup came a little late in the season to warrant talk of Rookie Of The Year honors, but the future looks a little brighter today for Rangers fans.

Cain Velasquez V.S. Fabricio Werdum Preview

Cain Velasquez is the UFC heavyweight champion, and he will face Fabricio Werdum in the main event of UFC 188 if Jaime Garcia Dias does not make weight. UFC fans are calling the matchup a “superfight,” and it’s not without reason. Cain Velasquez is the most dominant UFC heavyweight champion of all time, but he hasn’t competed in nearly a year. Cain Velasquez has been plagued with injuries throughout his career, and many people are wondering how he will look after such a long layoff.

Fabricio Werdum is a very dangerous fighter, and he presents a difficult style matchup for the champion. Fabricio Werdum is a deadly striker, but he is also one of the best Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the world. No one is as skilled as Fabricio Werdum on the ground. However, Cain Velasquez is known for taking his opponents down and pounding them out.

When Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum meet, UFC fans are unsure of what will take place. Some people actually think that Cain Velasquez will get submitted, but there are others that feel that Fabricio Werdum will get knocked out. Yahoo! Sports recently posted an extended preview of the upcoming matchup between Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum. The UFC president is hoping that Cain Velasquez doesn’t get injured before the matchup. UFC 188 is just around the corner, and it should go down as one of the best matches of all time.
