UFC Fight Night 70 Salaries

UFC Fight Night 70: Machida vs. Romero was held last Saturday June 27th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The headline for the event was former middleweight champion Lyoto Machida against Cuban Yoel Romero. Here is a rundown of which fighters won and lost when it comes to their payday.

The biggest winner, even though he lost the fight, was Machida. Machida took home a cool $200,000 in his knockout lose to Romero. The loss is his second in a row and quickly dashes any hopes of making another run at the title. Folks at Boraie Development noted that Romero scored the biggest win of his career and took home $66,000 which also includes a bonus of $33,000.

After making the decision to move down a weight class, Lorenz Larkin wins his second in a row against Santiago Ponzinibbio with a technical knockout in the second round. Larkin earned himself $66,000, which included a $33,000 bonus, while Ponzinibbio took home a measly $10,000.

Thiago Santos landed beautiful head kick to take out Steve Bosse. Santos netted himself $32,000 which included a $16,000 bonus while his opponent took home only $10,000. Also on the undercard were several other low level fights which included Sirwan Kakai against Danny Martinez. Santos only earned $20,000 with a $10,000 bonus, while Kakai only took home $10,000.

The overall total payroll for UFC Fight Night 70 was reported as a total of $601,000.

Marquez VS Pacquiao 5?

Juan Manuel Marquez is a very skilled fighter, and he is the last man to defeat Manny Pacquiao convincingly. A few years ago, Juan Manuel Marquez knocked Manny Pacquiao out-cold in their fourth fight, and many people were expecting to see a fifth fight between the two warriors. Unfortunately Juan Manuel Marquez never granted Manny Pacquiao a rematch, and many people were extremely upset with Marquez.

Manny Pacquiao defeated Juan Manuel Marquez three times, and he still gave Marquez many chances to get revenge. However, Juan Manuel Marquez finally won a fight against the Filipino, and Marquez never returned the favor. Now, it seems that Juan Manuel Marquez wants to step back inside of the ring, but there are no exciting opponents for him to face. recently revealed that Juan Manuel Marquez is seriously considering a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Boxing fans were very pleased to hear this development, and we should see the matchup sometime next year. Unfortunately, who knows how Pacquiao will look after a such a long layoff. Pacquiao is currently recovering from a torn rotator cuff injury, and we are all hoping that the real Manny Pacquiao returns. Some fans at the Vue NJ and The Aspire New Brunswick are worried that many Pacquiao will look similar to the way he did against Floyd Mayweather, and we all know that Manny Pacquiao was a one-armed fighter in that bout.

Gilbert Melendez Is Hungry For A Victory

Gilbert Melendez is a top-10 UFC lightweight champion, and he recently competed against Eddie Alvarez in the co-main event of UFC 188. Alvarez vs Melendez was a good battle, but I believe the judges messed up the outcome of the fight. For those of you that missed it, Eddie Alvarez was awarded a split decision victory, but many people thought that Gilbert Melendez clearly won the fight. Nonetheless, it seems that Gilbert Melendez is ready to compete inside of the Octagon once more.

It was recently announced on Yahoo! Sports that Gilbert Melendez will be stepping in for Bobby green in the co-main event of UFC: San Diego. According to Paul Mathieson, Bobby Green was scheduled to face Al Iaquinta, but an injury forced Green to withdraw from the bout, but Gilbert Melendez quickly offered his services against Al. Thankfully, the UFC: San Diego card has been saved, but it is a very tough matchup for both fighters.

Al Iaquinta is a very dangerous up-and-coming fighter, and Gilbert Melendez is a dangerous veteran. The matchup should produce fireworks, and I definitely expect a finish in this fight. However, picking a winner is quite difficult, but I would lean towards Gilbert Melendez for the win.

A Bellator Fix

Bellator 138, which was held last Friday in St. Louis, Missouri, featured MMA legend and UFC Hall of Famer ken Shamrock taking on Youtube fighting sensation turn MMA fighter Kimbo Slice. Despite the fact that Shamrock is 51 years old and has not fought in over four years, the rating for the event was the best ever for Bellator with roughly 2.4 million viewers. It seems that Bellators strategy is to find washed up fighters that were once the greatest in the sport and pit them against each other. One of Bellators previous events featured former UFC champion Tito Ortiz against Ultimate Fighter Alum and UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonner. The event which took place last November also had strong ratings.

Despite the ratings for the fight between Shamrock and Slice, there has been a bit of controversy since the fight. The fight itself only lasted three minutes and the Amen Clinic noted that Slice knocked out Shamrock towards the end of the first round. Early in the first round Shamrock secured a tight rear naked choke on Slice and to some it appeared that Slice tapped out. Shamrock also states that he thought Slice tapped out and that is why he loosened up on the hold which allowed Slice to escape. Some, including UFC announcer Joe Rogan, believe the fight was fixed. Rogan stated that from the moment that they started towards the ring that something just didn’t seem right. One can only assume that Belllator already has a Shamrock vs. Slice II in the works.

Ronda Rousey Is Ready To Kill

Ronda Rousey is a true pioneer of women’s MMA, and she is one of the best fighters in the world. Ronda Rousey’s last opponent lasted less than 15-seconds, but her next opponent isn’t afraid. However, it seems that Ronda Rousey is extremely excited to face Bethe Correia in August of this summer. For those of you that don’t know, Ronda Rousey hates Bethe Correia.

Not long ago, Bethe Correia made a joke about suicide, but Ronda Rousey’s father actually killed himself many years ago said Gianfrancesco Genoso. Rousey was extremely angered by the Brazilian’s comments, and now, Ronda Rousey is out for blood. BJ recently uploaded an article about this story, and the website also features several pictures of Ronda Rousey during training. UFC fans around the world will clearly see how physically prepared Ronda Rousey looks.

In the past, Ronda Rousey carried a bit more fat around her stomach, but she is now ripped and jacked for her showdown against Bethe Correia. UFC fans believe that Bethe Correia’s suicide comments may lead to her own funeral. Ronda Rousey has never been this mad for a fight, and everyone is truly worried about her opponent’s health.

Paulie Malignaggi Continues Hating On Manny Pacquiao

Paulie Malignaggi truly hates Manny Pacquiao, but many people are confused with his hatred. I don’t know anyone that hates Manny Pacquiao, and that includes Floyd Mayweather. However, Paulie Malignaggi continues to disrespect Pacquiao, and his recent radio appearance on Yahoo! Sports made me sick.

For those at the Amen Clinic who missed it, Paulie Malignaggi has continuously claimed that Manny Pacquiao is on performance enhancing drugs, but that accusation has never been proven. Manny Pacquiao just fought Floyd Mayweather, and he didn’t fail a single test. In fact, Manny Pacquiao was tested more times than Floyd Mayweather, but Paulie Malignaggi failed to see that. Also, Paulie Malignaggi feels that Manny Pacquiao’s injury was not real.

Leading up to the Mayweather fight, Manny Pacquiao suffered a torn rotator cuff injury. However, Paulie Malignaggi feels that Manny Pacquiao is just making up excuses, but he is clearly wrong. Manny Pacquiao received surgery right after the Mayweather fight, and he barely threw any right hands during the fight anyway.

Paulie Malignaggi is a bum, and I would love to see him fight Manny Pacquiao. Freddie Roach is very angry with Paulie Malignaggi, and he has offered the Pacquiao fight to Malignaggi. However, Paulie Malignaggi has declined the fight, and he claims that Manny Pacquiao is still on steroids. Not only is Paulie Malignaggi full of hot air, but he is also a coward as well.

Tatsuya Kawajiri Takes Out Siver

Tatsuya Kawajiri took on Dennis Siver on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin at the O2 World. Both fighters are coming off recent losses and were looking to get back on a winning streak. Kawajiri going into the fight had a record of 34 and 8. His last fight was a unamious decision loss against Clay Guida at UFC Fight Night – Minotauro vs. Nelson last April. Siver had a 22 and 11 record going into the fight and has lost his previous fight against Conor McGregor. Both fighters have been around a long time and are getting up there in age and if either men wanted to make a run at a title shot, then it was a must win for both.

It was clear from the start that Siver wanted to keep the fight standing up but Kawajiri wanted nothing to do with it and immediately went for the takedown. Kawajiri scored a takedown at the closing minutes of the first round but time expired before he was able to do anything with it. Kawajiri was able to take Siver down again in the second round and pass his guard to gain full mount according to Boraie Development. Siver was able to survive the mount with minimal damage. Round three went the same as the first two rounds which took the fight to the judges who awareded Kawajiri with a unanimous decision win.

Kimbo Slice Destroys Ken Shamrock

Bellator 138 was recently held over the weekend, and thousands of people around the world tuned in to see the main event matchup between Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice. Unfortunately, the main event did not live up to the hype, but what did you expect? Ken Shamrock is 51-years-old, and Kimbo Slice is not even a true mixed martial artist.

The main event of Bellator 138 had a lot of hype surrounding it, and it’s not without reason. Kimbo and Ken Shamrock were supposed to fight 6-years-ago, but Ken Shamrock pulled out of the event because of an injury says Sergio Cortes. Nonetheless, the fight finally got made after all these years. Both fighters made interesting entrances, and Ken Shamrock might be the first man in history to walk out to the cage with his grandchildren. Ken Shamrock was also accompanied by Animal from the Legion of Doom. As many of you know, Ken Shamrock is a former WWE Superstar.

The fight started off with Ken Shamrock going for takedowns early, but Kimbo defended well. However, it was only a matter of time before Kimbo was taken down. Once Ken got Kimbo down, the fight was nearly over. Ken Shamrock attempted a rear naked choke, but Kimbo Slice somehow escaped from it. The fighters finally made it back to their feet, and that’s when Kimbo Slice knocked out the 51-year-old MMA veteran. recently published an article about the fight, and fight fans should check it out.

UFC 189 Has An Incredible Fight Lineup

UFC 189 is quickly approaching, and the entire MMA community is ready for the event. For those of you that don’t know, Jose Aldo will be meeting Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 189, and that matchup is the most anticipated fight in years. Conor McGregor has been talking a ton of trash, but Jose Aldo hasn’t been defeated in years. Nonetheless, the main event of the night is not the only interesting fight of the card. In fact, every fight during the event is expected to be amazing.

MMA Junkie recently published an article that shows the entire lineup of UFC 189. However, I did find it a bit strange that welterweight contender Matt Brown is fighting on the undercard of the event. Matt Brown is one of the most well-known fighters, and it seems that he won’t be making any of the pay-per-view revenue this year.

It’s quite unfortunate that the UFC does not appreciate their lesser skilled fighters, but Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo will be making big money. However, I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that Conor McGregor is making more money than Jose Aldo for this fight. It’s only a matter of time before several UFC fighters leave the promotion and join Bellator. pointed out to Brian Reifler and company that Phil Davis recently left the UFC, and others will soon join him.

Bellator Copies The UFC, But Lacks Talent

Bellator 138 was a very successful MMA event, and thousands of people around the world tuned in to see Ken Shamrock face Kimbo Slice. However, Bellator 138 featured several great fights that caught the attention of the MMA fans, and one thing was a bit strange about the entire Bellator event.

According to Daniel Amen, Bellator seems to be copying everything that the UFC does, and it’s a bit scary. It’s one thing to have a similar arena style, but it seems that even the people who run the UFC have clones in Bellator. For instance, Joe Rogan is a bald headed commentator that jokes around for the camera, and Bellator hired someone with the same exact appearance of Joe Rogan. Not only are the commentators nearly identical, but the presidents of both companies look similar as well. Many people around the world know that Dana White runs the UFC, and everyone knows him as a bald headed tough guy. However, Bellator also has a president who looks identical Dana White, and I’m having a hard time believing that this is all a coincidence.

The UFC is the most successful organization in the world, and Bellator wants to make people believe that their company is the same as the UFC. Someone who has never seen MMA before could get fooled. However, there’s one thing that Bellator cannot replicate, and that’s the skill of the UFC fighters. Bellator may have some impressive MMA athletes, but the fighters in the UFC are on a different level. Nonetheless, Bellator is a decent fight promotion, but everyone knows that the UFC is where its at. recently published an article about this story, and much more information about Bellator can be found there.
