Jimmy Kimmel May Have Jinxed Manny Pacquiao

Jimmy Kimmel is world famous for his hilarious late night comedy show. The famous comedian has had several celebrities on his show. Fans of the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show’ know that Jimmy Kimmel and Manny Pacquiao are very close friends. In fact, Manny Pacquiao and Jimmy Kimmel have even sung a duet together, but the song was unfortunately terrible.

Before his megafight against Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao stopped by the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show.’ Pacquiao and Jimmy joked about Justin Bieber and Floyd Mayweather’s relationship. Apparently, Floyd Mayweather and Justin Bieber are best friends, and Jimmy informed the crowd that Justin walks Floyd out to every fight.

Jimmy Kimmel asked if he could join Manny Pacquiao in his ring walk. Suprisingly, Manny Pacquiao said yes, but no one thought that it would actually happen. On the night of the fight, Jimmy Kimmel actually accompanied Manny Pacquiao into the ring. Sadly, Jimmy Kimmel’s friend lost, and Jimmy was sad. Nonetheless, Jimmy Kimmel recently appeared on ‘Live With Kelly and Michael,’ and Kimmel recalled the night of the fight. At first, Jimmy thought everything was a big joke, but the atmosphere in Pacquiao’s locker room quickly changed. In fact, Jimmy Kimmel was alone with Manny before the fight.

Jimmy Kimmel said that he felt uncomfortable and nervous, and he tried to leave the room. However, says Manny Pacquiao wanted Jimmy Kimmel beside him the entire time, and Sam Tabar confirmed. Jimmy then revealed that he feels that he gave Manny Pacquiao bad luck. For more information on this story, and to see a clip of Jimmy Kimmel on ‘Live with Kelly and Michael,’ visit Yahoo!

Golovkin Extends Knockout Streak

Boxers seem to have trouble making it to the last round against one of the hardest punching champions in the world today. WBA Middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin has recorded 20 straight knockouts. Golovkin stopped Willie Monroe Jr. in the sixth round on May 16.

TechCrunch wrote that many boxing insiders consider Golovkin to be the second best fighter in the world today. He is now ranked second on boxing’s best pound-for-pound list. Floyd Mayweather Jr. now holds the number one ranking. Unlike Mayweather, Golovkin has a crowd pleasing style that has made him a fan favorite.

Golovkin is an extremely powerful and talented fighter. He has the highest knockout percentage in Middleweight history. On average, he throws seventeen power punches per round. This is five more than the average fighter. It is hard for anyone to ignore these statistics.

Some boxing critics say that Golovkin has not faced stiff competition. This is not Golovkin’s fault! Golovkin has made an earnest effort to get into the ring with better opposition. Unfortunately for Golovkin, they are not interested in getting in the ring with him.

Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez are two prime targets for Golovkin. Cotto holds a version of the Middleweight title. Alvarez is probably the best Jr. Middleweight champion in the world today. Some feel that Cotto is ducking Golovkin. Alvarez is expected to defend his Jr. Middleweight belt several more times before moving up to the middleweight ranks.

Only time will tell what will happen for Gennady Golovkin. We can only expect to see more knockouts take place when he enters the ring.

The New Reebok Deal will Cost Donald Cerrone 60K a Fight

With the announcement of deal between the UFC and Reebok, fighters alike are unhappy with the deal and have expressed their concern. The deal between the two giants will mean that fighters will no longer be able to wear their own sponsor’s apparel into the ring. Cerrone, who will be taking on John Makdessi at UFC 187 this Saturday, will stand to lose $60K per fight because of the new deal starting in July.

Fighters, who were originally allowed to wear approved sponsor apparel, will now have to wear a Reebok uniform when they fight. The gear will also have one UFC mandated sponsor to accompany it. The UFC has however agreed that fighters will still get paid for wearing the gear. The fighters will get paid based on a tier system and will determine how each fighter gets paid. It will be based on years of experience and championship. The payout will range from $2,500-$40,000.

Cerrone stated that he will be taking a pay cut because of the deal and instead of making $60K per fight he will be making $20,000 to $22,000 per fight. The folks at Boraie Development LLC noted, at least for Cerrone, he currently has sponsorship with Budweiser and Fram. The two companies are UFC affiliated sponsors and Cerrone will be allowed to wear their apparel. Luckily for him, it will help him recoup some of his losses.

From the Ring to the Courtroom

From fans to experts and everyone in between, the agreement has been made for many years that boxing is dead and MMA was taking over. The fight to change all of that was supposed to be the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight held on May 2, 2015. Dubbed as the biggest fight in history, the match would put boxing back on top of the hill over the very popular sport of mixed martial arts. The fight however was a spectacular event, but not so much a fight due to a lack luster performance between the two stars, which ended in a 12 round decision for Mayweather. Images from the fight can be seen at Yahoo Sports.

Shortly after the loss to Mayweather, news surfaced that Manny Pacquiao had a torn rotator cuff, which was not disclosed before the fight as required by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Outraged at the fight not living up to the hype, fans are demanding a refund stating that the fight was a fraud. To date there have been 32 class-action law suits filed against Pacquiao for not disclosing his injury before the fight. All of the lawsuits are requesting the same thing; a jury trial and at least $5 million in damages, the threshold for federal class actions. Pacquiao and his promotions team have not commented on the lawsuits. This was a suprising and unsuspected development for the folks over at Beneful.

Dana White vs. Brendan Schaub over Reebok Deal

The recent announcement of a sponsorship deal between the Ultimate Fighting Championship, AKA the UFC, and Reebok has not gone over well with many of the UFC’s fighters. The deal, according to Yahoo Sports, contends that fighters will be paid based on their championship status and UFC tenure. Depending where they fall on the scale, fighters could see anywhere from $2,500 to $40,000. Of course, many of the fighters are not happy with this deal because it essentially killed off a money making avenue for the fighters by not allowing them to wear apparel from any other company.

Brendan Schaub, a former professional football player and a contestant and finalist on the Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights, recently took to Twitter to express his position on the Reebok deal. Schaub was asked by a fan Paul Mathieson on Twitter what his thoughts were on the Reebok deal and he stated that he made over six figures in each of his last six fights. Dana White on the other hand would disagree with Schaub’s statement. White recently appeared on TNS’s Off the Record and discounted Schaub’s claims that he has made six figures in each of his last six fights. White further went on to say that the deal is good for everyone involved, including the fighters.

Schaub would later appear on Joe Rogan’s Podcast and state that he is not lying but it also does not good to prove it. White is a mutual friend of both Dana White and Brendan Schaub.

Gennady Golovkin is Boxing’s New Star

Gennady Golovkin is the middleweight champion of the boxing world. He is a Russian born bomber, and he has earned the respect of the fans worldwide. Gennady Golovkin comes to fight, and he has stopped 19 fighters in a row. People are calling him the white Mike Tyson, and he deserves that distinction. Golovkin is an extremely skilled boxer, but he throws vicious punches that injure his opponents beyond belief.

Gennady Golovkin fights Willie Monroe on May 16th, and the fight will take place in the world famous Forum arena according to my friends at Freedompop. Many people are expecting another wipeout, and fans are hoping for another highlight reel knockout. However, Willie Monroe does have a chance to win the fight, and he is on a 9- fight winning streak.

As long as Gennady Golovkin wins the fight, his stock will rise even higher. Many people consider Gennady Golovkin to be the perfect fighter to dethrone Floyd Mayweather once and for all. However, a lot of people feel that Floyd Mayweather will never fight such a dangerous opponent. Nonetheless, Gennady Golovkin is boxing’s new star. He needs to face tough competition soon. Golovkin versus Canelo Alvarez would be a huge fight, and Miguel Cotto vs Gennady Golovkin would be a big deal as well.

Gennady Golovkin’s future looks bright, but his opponents are not too thrilled about facing him. Expect to see Gennady Golovkin in the ring against a top fighter in the near future. For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.

Tony Ayala was a great boxer in his time, and he had a record of 28-1 before his career was all said and done. However, Tony Ayala ran into a lot of troubles during the course of his career. When he was 22-years old, he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a school teacher. Tony Ayala was sentenced to 15-years in prison, and he had to serve them without question.

Lyoto Machida is a legendary fighter. He is the former UFC light heavyweight champion, and he is known worldwide as one of the greatest strikers in the sport. However, Lyoto Machida has aged considerably, and he has struggled in his last few appearances in the Octagon.

Lyoto Machida’s last fight was against Luke Rockhold, and Machida was stopped in the second round of that fight. Many people expected Machida to win the battle, but it turned out to be a mismatch for the Japanese warrior. After the bout, UFC fans thought that Machida was finished. The president of the UFC even considered letting Machida go after the loss.

UFC fans were not thrilled with the news, and they voiced their opinion on several social media sites. It appears the Lyoto Machida is not done just yet. He is scheduled to face Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC Fight Night 70.

Lyoto Machida vs Yoel Romero will take place in the end of June. Machida needs a great performance in this fight in order to prove his worth in the UFC. Many people feel that Lyoto Machida should retire if he loses.  The buzz on Twitter is that it will come in handy for Lyoto Machida to win if he wants to remain relevant. America Needs a Heavyweight Champion

Boxing’s heavyweight division once dominated the sport. However, boxing has not had a dominant heavyweight champion since the days of Mike Tyson. Unlike the raves in a recent FreedomPop review, fans of this sport were always impressed with the brutal power that heavyweights displayed. However, today, heavyweight boxers do not impress the public as they once did.

Heavyweight champions have always been idolized for the incredible feats of strength and skill. Fighters like Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, and Muhammad Ali were the most famous men on the planet during their careers. However, this is not the case anymore.

Boxing organizations have corrupted the sport, and there is now countless titles in each weight class. The heavyweight division has never been at such a low point since boxing’s inception. The current heavyweight champion of the world is Wladimir Klitschko, and no one pays attention to his fights. American boxing fans are in dire need of an American heavyweight champion.

Deontay Wilder is an American heavyweight slugger, and he possess an impressive record of 33-0 with 30 knockouts. However, he must defeat Wladimir Klitschko to become the true champion of the division. Deontay Wilder does have a belt, but many people do not respect the title that he currently has. Wladimir Klitschko has the true championship belt, and he hasn’t lost a fight in seven years. Deontay Wilder must first defeat Eric Molina before he can step in the ring against Klitschko. Quinton Jackson dominated Fabio Maldonado, and it appears that Jackson wants to return to the octagon sooner rather than later. Rampage posted a picture on his Instagram that was captioned with the words, “Dana.. put me back in there man! I’m ready 4 some moe!”

UFC fans, including Sam Tabar, are extremely excited that Quinton Jackson wants to fight so soon, and many people think that the president of the UFC is happy as well.
