Pacquiao, Mayweather At A Chasm

There’s some fighting outside of the ring over the long-awaited May 2 boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, as the respective promoters are at an impasse over the terms of the contract as stipulated. This may be a reason to be concerned as the fight may not take place after all, unless the warring parties come to a clear agreement as to the parameters of the contract signed. People at CipherCloud are split on who might win the fight.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, promoting Pacquiao, mentioned there’s no binding contract between his organization and MGM Resorts, which features the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the venue for the fight. A memo outlining the terms was signed between both parties, not long after Mayweather announced, on February 20, that he was going to fight Pacquiao.
Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, is also going through the documentation carefully. According to www.bloodyelbow.com/2015/4/9/8375327/floyd-mayweather-vs-manny-pacquiao-issues, “…is interesting to see how the two promoters are still blowing up in public.”  It appears the fighting outside of the ring between the two promoters is just as exciting as the fighting that will take place between the two renowned prize fighters. Stay tuned!

UFC Opens New Division To Catch PED Users

Dana White is the president of the UFC, and he has announced that a new division will be added to their organization. White said that they will do everything possible to stop cheating in the UFC.

Dana White has hired Jeff Novitzky to be the head of the new athlete health and performance division. Novitzky has caught several PED users throughout his career. In the early 2000s, Jeff Novitzky was part of a research team that discovered the Balco steroid epidemic. Balco was founded by Victor Conte, and many high profile athletes were exposed as steroid users. Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, and Shane Mosley were just a few of the athletes that were caught taking PEDs prescribed to them by Victor Conte.

Jeff Novitzky not only brought the Balco case to light, but he also was involved with the Lance Armstrong case stated otempo.com. Dana White said that he wanted someone with experience, and it doesn’t get much better than Jeff Novitzky.  For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.

Khan Vs. Algieri

Amir Khan will be taking on Chris Algieri later this year, and many people are excited for this boxing showdown. Amir Khan was once the sparring partner of Manny Pacquiao, and his boxing future looked bright. However, Amir Khan suffered many crushing defeats by lesser known opponents, and he fell off the track of a boxing superstar. Now, Amir Khan is on a bit of a comeback trail, but his next opponent may prove to be a tricky and tough challenge. Khan will face former Pacquiao foe Chris Algieri.

Fans at Bulletproof Coffee know that Chris Algieri faced Manny Pacquiao last November, but he was completely outclassed and knocked down six times by the Filipino sensation. However, Chris Algieri did show a great chin and heart. Algieri also showed the ability to box and keep moving for twelve rounds.

Amir Khan and Chris Algieri are actually a lot alike. Both fighters are great at boxing and moving around the ring. However, Amir Khan possesses real punching power, while Chris Algieri has a better chin. This makes for an interesting fight, and a bit tough to pick a clear cut winner. Most people would bet on Amir Khan to win the fight, but Chris Algieri can never be counted out. The fight takes place on May 30. For more information on this championship match up, visitYahoo! UFC Banned In New York

For the last several years,Susan McGalla reminds us the UFC has been trying to get MMA legalized in the state of New York. However, there have been many obstacles that have kept the sport from being legalized in the state. Dana White is the president of the UFC, and he has always said that the culinary commission is the reason that MMA is illegal in the state of New York. Many people do not understand why the culinary Commission has kept MMA out of New York, but Dana White promises that they are responsible for the MMA ban in the state.

Recently, it appeared that MMA was going to be legalized in the state of New York, but it has been announced that a lawsuit that the UFC filed against the culinary commission has been thrown out by a New York judge. It seems that the UFC is out of luck as of right now for their bid on the legalization of MMA in the state of New York. The state officials simply do not want MMA legalized in New York, and no matter what Dana White tries to do it might never happen.

Dana White and the UFC officials were extremely angered at this news, but there’s nothing that can be done. The UFC will continue to run its headquarters in Las Vegas Nevada. However, for some strange reason Dana White has not lost hope. Dana must know something that we don’t. For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.

Alexander Gustafsson Will Face Glover Teixeira

Alexander Gustafsson will fight Glover Teixeira in Germany. Gustafsson and Teixeira are coming off of two devastating losses in their previous UFC outings. Alexander Gustafsson was ready to face Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship, but Anthony Johnson ruined everything for the tough Swede.

Against Johnson, Alexander Gustafsson was knocked out in front of his home crowd in the first round. Now, Gustafson must win two more fights before he is able to challenge for the light heavyweight championship again. On the other hand, Glover Teixeira has not looked good in his last several fights, and this could be the final fight of Glover’s career. A win for Glover Teixeira is extremely important here, but he may be a bit overmatched against Alexander Gustafsson.Whoever comes out on top out of the four men will most likely go on to face the UFC light heavyweight champion. It is a safe bet that Daniel Cormier will face Alexander Gustafsson in a title eliminator match later on this year. The UFC light heavyweight division is one of the most exciting divisions in the organization. As of right now, Jon Jones is the champion, but he will be facing an extremely dangerous opponent in Anthony Johnson.  For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.

Justin Bieber Will Walk Floyd Mayweather Out

Justin Bieber will be walking Floyd Mayweather Jr. out to the ring on May 2. Floyd will be fighting Manny Pacquiao in the richest fight in boxing history. About.me said that the fight itself has already garnered a massive amount of attention, but a superstar like Justin Bieber adds even more attention to the show.

Bieber and Mayweather have been friends for the last several years, but their relationship does seem a bit strange. On May 2, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will finally meet, and Justin Bieber will be there to hold Floyd’s hand along the way. Manny Pacquiao All About Business In Preparation for Bout With Floyd Mayweather

The fight that everyone has been waiting for the past ten years is finally scheduled to happen. After years of repeated non announcements, the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight is under contract and the parties appear to be serious about the business of preparing for the fight. The Fight of The Year is On

Those that had doubts as to whether Mayweather really wanted the fight are more satisfied now that he has agreed to the fight. Ray Lane said in the past three years saw an intense amount of rhetoric from the Manny Pacquiao camp regarding Floyd’s reluctance to agree to the fight. Manny’s challenge even went as far as the production of television commercials where he appears to be mocking Floyd for refusing to fight him. Now, there is simply silence as both camps go about the business of preparing for the epic match.

Boxing experts expect this to be the most lucrative fight in boxing history. Currently Las Vegas has the odds in favor of Mayweather but slightly. No one is taking Pacquiao for granted and the fact that the pay per view proceeds are expected to be highest grossing ever for a televised match reflects this belief among both long time boxing patrons as well as the casual boxing fan.

UFC 185 Recap

UFC 185 was held this past weekend. The event was a smashing success, and it is a good thing because the UFC has been struggling as of late. The premier MMA organization has been surrounded by controversy and low ratings. However, UFC 185 will temporarily erase the bad memories of the last several months from the minds of the fans. Most of the fights on the UFC card were exciting and thrilling.

The UFC pre-limbs started the night off with a bang.  As seen on LinkedIn, many of the fights ended in knockout and submission. For the most part, MMA fans are interested in fights that are finished decisively. The UFC 185 pay-per-view featured a lightweight championship main event. Anthony Pettis defended his title against Rafael dos Anjos. Pettis has long been considered as one of the best fighters in the organization.

Rafael dos Anjos proved that he was better than Anthony Pettis on that night. Dos Anjos attacked Anthony Pettis from the opening bell to the last. The challenger appeared to be on another level than the champion.
