Cain Velasquez Stares Through Fabricio Werdum

Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum recently battled for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, and both men fought their heart out on the night of the fight. However, at a press conference a few days before the event, Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum had an incredibly heated face off. Youtube recently published a video of the confrontation. It was quite clear that Cain Velasquez was not joking around with his opponent, but Fabricio Werdum made some strange faces and gestures.

After their fight, both men gave each other respect, but it’s clear that their rivalry is not over just yet and this has fans like Steve Murray excited. The UFC needs a good rivalry, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum fight a few more times. Dana White is wishing that every fight turned out the way that their matchup at UFC 188 did. The president of the company was very happy with the event, and he is looking forward to UFC 189.

Mayweather Wants Credit, Not Excuses

For all of the anticipation that lead up to the recent Mayweather vs. Pacquiao boxing match, the fact of the matter is there really wasn’t a winner. Yes, Mayweather was able to be declared the victor, and both fighters were successful in padding their wallets for the process, but ultimately it felt like the drama before and after was far more tolling on the public than any of the punches that were actually thrown during the fight.

What’s even worse is that after the fight Pacquiao blamed his lack of effort and ability on an injury in his shoulder. And, as expected, once the excuse was suggested as the reason for defeat, Mayweather had a few words in response as well: http://sports.yahoo.com/video/floyd-mayweather-dont-buy-manny-194239766.html

Even though in recent times it is starting to appear as if boxing is fading out of popularity, the truth is the drama is as exciting as ever. There are more than enough fighters out there to bring in the viewers, and while not all of them have the big names that Mayweather might, they can bring the same amount of drama that he can. It’s not about being the best anymore it seems. When it comes to boxing you just need to become popular enough (or interesting enough) to attract the viewers and then you truly can turn that hype into a major payday. Will there be another fight as big as Mayweather vs Pacquiao? Will it have to be a rematch?  Residents at The Aspire New Brunswick know that they will have to stay tuned.

Fight of The Century Turns Out To Be a Dud

It was billed as the fight of the century, and the most important fight in boxing history. However, it seems that boxing experts and fans of the sport were sadly mistaken. The Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather fight was a disaster. No one can fault Pacquiao, but it was Floyd Mayweather who ruined the event for millions of fans.

The crowd for the Pacquiao versus Mayweather fight was electric in the beginning of the bout. Soon, though, the world realized that only one man was there to fight, and the other man was there to run all night long. Boxing fans’ worst fear came true on May 2, 2015. Floyd Mayweather ran all night long and held his way to a unanimous decision victory. However, Manny Pacquiao felt that he won the fight, and many of his supporters felt the same way. Pacquiao pressured Floyd Mayweather the entire night, while Floyd Mayweather scarcely landed a telling blow.

Fans of boxing got what they wanted to see for the first few rounds, but then it was apparent that the fight would not live up to its hype. Manny Pacquiao connected several punches that staggered Floyd Mayweather, and he relentlessly pursued and attacked the dodging fighter. It quickly became clear to Paul Mathieson and other fans that Mayweather was there to collect a paycheck and not fight the fight that fans wanted to see. Floyd Mayweather won the bout, but he lost the respect of millions of fans. For more information on this story, visit USAToday.

Pac-Man Sued By Fans

Many fans were disappointed when Manny Pacquiao, famed Filipino boxer, lost to Floyd Mayweather in a highly-promoted fight this past Saturday. There were issues with satellite providers connecting viewers to the bout, and they are many currently seeking refunds for the pay-per-view purchases, those who did see the fight may have noticed something was off with one of the two fighters.

As reported by NBC, a lawsuit was filed in Las Vegas naming Manny Pacquiao as responsible for damages for failing to disclose a shoulder injury prior to the fight.

Traditionally, as was the case with this event, both athletes are given disclosure forms to inform the venue of any injuries they may have that may or may not influence the decision to go ahead with the event. In this instance, as the lawsuit claims, Manny declared that he had no injury to his shoulder and was prepared to fight.

This class action suit, seeking $5 million, comes after a post-fight interview where Pacquiao informed the world via press conference that he had a torn rotator cuff he suffered through during his May 2nd fight. In addition to this, the boxer could also face disciplinary actions from boxing officials in Nevada, including fines and suspensions from future bouts for withholding the details of this injury. NJBiz and The Aspire New Brunswick noted that according to the Nevada Athletic Commission, an investigation is underway to confirm Pacquiao’s injury and why he failed to inform them of this prior to the fight.

Wladimir Klitschko’s Thoughts On Mayweather VS. Pacquiao

Wladimir Klitschko is the heavyweight champion of the boxing world, and he has dominated the division for the last decade. Wladimir seems invincible inside of the squared circle, but he is a humble man outside of the ring. Wladimir Klitschko and his older brother grew up extremely poor. Their parents were hard workers, and their humble background shaped the Klitschkos into distinguished men.

Wladimir Klitschko’s nickname inside of the ring is “Dr. Steelhammer.” He was given this nickname because he surgically dissects and removes his opponents from the ring with precise power punches. However, Wladimir Klitschko is actually a doctor, and there has never been a heavyweight champion as educated as Wladimir.

Klitschko defends his Heavyweight Championship on April 25th, 2015. Unfortunately, the world has almost forgot about the heavyweight title fight. Fans of the sport of boxing are all focused on the May 2nd showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. This is the first time in history that the heavyweight championship means so little.

Wladimir Klitschko was recently interviewed by Rollingstone, and he recently gave his opinions to Ricardo Tosto on the big fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather. Klitschko says that the fight is dead even, but Floyd Mayweather may have a slight advantage in terms of boxing ability. However, he also said that Manny Pacquiao is a better person, and he is hoping that Pacquiao can pull off the upset.
